BIR Eases Filing and Payment Processes of Taxes and Returns in the Philippines

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) releases Revenue Memorandum Circular (RMC) No. 43-2020, to provide easier options to taxpayers on filing tax returns and paying taxes due within the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period.

METHODS OF FILING AND PAYMENTS

  1. Taxes may be paid at the nearest Authorized Agent Banks (AABs) regardless of the Revenue District Office (RDO) jurisdiction.
  • Filing and payment of taxes may be done through the concerned Revenue Collection Officers (RCOs) of the nearest RDO, or in areas of AABs

The methods are applicable provided that tax payments in cash shall not exceed a limit of twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00). Payments in the form of check shall not be limited provided that similar is made in the presence of RCOs in the RDO within the ECQ period.

BIR clarified that checks shall be considered payable to the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the name of the receiving AAB is no longer required to appear in the check for tax payment.
