John Brian Z. Malbas is an Assistant Manager of AHC Certified Public Accountants Limited Co. He has been working as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 2015, with six years of experience in varying disciplines such as Financial Audit, Business Process Reviews, Management Reporting, Corporate Finance Reporting, Tax Compliance, and Financial and Tax Advisory in various industries like banks and other financial institutions, capital markets, retail and manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, non-stock and non-profit organizations, construction, Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) foreign companies, and among others.

He is currently directing and managing a team of CPA consultants at AHC while also handling the back-office accounting, tax, and other government compliance of several companies, including but not limited to: Bookkeeping, Tax Advisory, Tax Compliance, various Philippine Economic Zone Area (PEZA) Compliance, Financial and Tax Consultancy, and other Ad-hoc Financial and Tax Engagements.

John worked with Sycip, Gorres, Velayo (SGV) & Co. after acquiring his CPA license and obtaining professional experience in External Financial Auditing. His responsibilities mainly include the audit of financial statements reporting under the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and Philippine Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium-sized Entities (PFRS for SMEs). He also reviews disclosures in compliance with other government agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), and others. In addition, he also provided value-added recommendations to clients to help improve internal controls and accounting processes.

John was a consistent dean’s lister at Aklan Catholic College, where he earned his degree in Bachelor of Science in Accountancy with a Latin honor.
