BIR Partners with DBP and MyEG for an Improved Online Tax Payment in the Philippines

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has collaborated with the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) & MyEG for the operation of the new and upgraded online payment service authorizing citizens to pay their taxes through MyEG website.

The MyEG website features a streamlined application and payment system with real-time posting to provide a hassle-free experience when paying their taxes.

To pay online, taxpayers must log in to MyEG website and choose the appropriate BIR form series and tax type they need to pay. Afterward, they will be redirected to MyEG’s payment section to choose their preferred payment option.

Other taxes such as withholding tax, value-added tax (VAT), percentage tax, documentary stamp tax, fringe benefits tax, and corporate income tax can be paid online.

Now, establishments and individuals will have an additional channel to pay their tax contributions in one platform with many payment options to choose from such as G-cash, credit, and debit cards.

BIR Deputee Commissioner Lanee David stated, “This innovation is part of our third solution providers to explore ways so that taxpayers could file and pay their taxes while remaining in the safety and security of their homes or their offices.”

She added, “This effort is much appreciated, as it compliments BIR’s efforts to enhance our key services, electronic services, and offer the public different options to help them comply with their tax obligations online.”

MyEG Philippines Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ann Margaret Saldaña expressed, “MyEG has been a leader in automating government services both here in the Philippines and in Malaysia.”

She continued, “Through this partnership with BIR and DBP, we are able to connect the taxpayers to our payment channels nationwide while we remain deeply committed to enabling government institutions to provide the ease of doing business so that citizens would have a more convenient and hassle-free way of paying their taxes online.”

The online tax payment system was made possible by the partnership of BIR, DBP, and IPAY MyEG Philippines Inc. The system was officially launched last October 18, 2021.
